Washington, DC - On February 7th, we hosted the first DC Tech Meetup (DCTM) of 2024. Over one hundred tech entrepreneurs, investors, and enthusiasts showed up, kicking off the year to a great start. We are grateful to the incredible Black founders, investors, and community leaders who helped us highlight Black-led innovation in honor of Black History Month.

The evening kicked off with our workshop "From Zero to Funded," in which Shalanda Armstrong (Managing Partner of 100KM Ventures) shared the ins and outs of understanding if and how you should raise capital for your startup. Over 30 founders and prospective founders packed the room to get Shalanda’s honest advice.

For the main event, six local companies shared demos of their products. As usual, DCTM offered attendees a glimpse into the future of innovation in the heart of the nation’s capital. From sports management to indie beauty founder empowerment, here are the companies that captivated the audience:
